Web design and E-commerce development for an international multi-branded manufacturer of commercial floorcoverings.

Polyflor is an internationally recognized floorcovering manufacturer. They approached us to migrate from their proprietary CMS to Wordpress and Woocommerce for e-commerce functionality. We carefully formulated a strategic plan that revolved around a fresh and forward thinking design vision. One of the main objectives of this project was to re-organise the product data but make the user experience more intuitive with less barriers. Balancing minimalism through a clean and modern design approach was a consistent challenge especially with a multi-branded product focus that Polyflor maintains. The end result was a fresh (and refreshing) experience with an easy-to-navigate intuitive design.

Migration of anything to Wordpress

When Polyflor approached us to transition from their proprietary CMS to Wordpress, we were presented with a unique challenge : How to migrate thousands of products from a database that is completely foreign to Wordpress' data structure. What began as an assessment into the data structure of the proprietary CMS transitioned into a case study in automation and data migration. We scripted and automated the absorption of all the data in the originating database schema and normalised the data into a structured Wordpress format. Then we imported the data through a multitude of migration passes until the residing data suited the needs and requirements of the project parameters.
